Best E-Bike Trails Near Every Riding 5 Location
One of the best parts about riding an e-bike is how much farther you can go. Whether you're just getting started or you've been riding for years, having a great trail nearby makes all the difference. We rounded up our favorite routes near each Riding 5 location so you can roll out the door and onto pavement, path, or packed dirt without any planning stress.
Brea — Carbon Canyon Regional Park Trail
Distance: ~5 miles | Surface: Paved + dirt mix | Level: Beginner–Intermediate
Carbon Canyon is a hidden gem tucked between Brea and Chino Hills. The park trail winds through a small redwood grove and open chaparral, with enough gentle elevation to make an e-bike a real advantage. It's a favorite for weekend morning rides before it gets crowded.
Riding 5 Brea tip: Visit our Brea store at 2500 E Imperial Hwy — we're less than 10 minutes from the trailhead.
Chula Vista — Bayshore Bikeway
Distance: ~24 miles (full loop) | Surface: Paved | Level: All levels
The Bayshore Bikeway is one of San Diego County's crown jewels for recreational cycling. The paved loop circles San Diego Bay with stunning water views the entire way. You don't have to ride the full 24 miles — pick a segment and explore at your own pace. E-bikes make the whole loop accessible to just about anyone.
Riding 5 Chula Vista tip: Our Chula Vista store at 970 Broadway is a great starting point for riders heading toward the bay.
Claremont — Claremont Hills Wilderness Park
Distance: Multiple loops, 2–8 miles | Surface: Dirt / fire road | Level: Intermediate
Literally in Claremont's backyard, this wilderness park offers sweeping views of the San Gabriel Valley and a network of trails ranging from mellow fire roads to more technical singletrack. E-bikes are permitted on the main fire roads, making the climbs much more manageable. Early morning rides here reward you with clear views all the way to downtown LA on a good day.
Riding 5 Claremont tip: We're at 987 W Foothill Blvd — under 2 miles from the trailhead. Stop in before or after your ride.
Corona — Skyline Drive Trail & Prado Regional Park
Distance: Varies | Surface: Paved + fire road | Level: All levels
Corona sits at the edge of the Santa Ana Mountains and gives riders access to multiple trail systems. Skyline Drive offers elevated canyon views with a satisfying climb that an e-bike turns into a joy ride instead of a sufferfest. For something flatter, Prado Regional Park's paved paths are great for families and casual riders who want to enjoy the outdoors without the elevation.
Riding 5 Corona tip: Find us at 1074 W 6th St — ask our team about the best trailhead access depending on your bike and fitness level.
Huntington Beach — Pacific Coast Highway Bike Path
Distance: ~8.5 miles (Huntington segment) | Surface: Paved | Level: All levels
This is the quintessential Southern California coastal ride. The dedicated bike path runs along the ocean from Bolsa Chica State Beach through Huntington City Beach and beyond. Flat, scenic, and accessible — it's the kind of ride that reminds you why you got an e-bike in the first place. Weekday mornings are especially peaceful.
Riding 5 Huntington Beach tip: Our store at 7462 Edinger Ave is a short ride from the PCH path. Perfect for a pre-ride tune-up or a post-ride stop.
Long Beach — Shoreline Path & El Dorado Park Trail
Distance: Varies | Surface: Paved | Level: All levels
Long Beach has two excellent options depending on your mood. The Shoreline Path hugs the waterfront with views of the Queen Mary and the harbor — it's urban, vibrant, and great for an evening roll. For something greener, El Dorado Regional Park has a dedicated paved bike trail through open parkland, ideal for families or riders who want a quieter experience.
Riding 5 Long Beach tip: We're at 730 Long Beach Blvd — centrally located with easy access to both routes.
Ontario — Pacific Electric Trail
Distance: ~21 miles (Claremont to Etiwanda) | Surface: Paved | Level: All levels
The Pacific Electric Trail is one of the best multi-use paths in the Inland Empire, running along the old Pacific Electric Railway corridor from Claremont to Etiwanda through Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga. It's completely flat, well-maintained, and connects multiple cities — making it a fantastic e-bike commute route or weekend cruise. Riding the full stretch and back is a great half-day adventure.
Riding 5 Ontario tip: Our store at 1795 East Holt Blvd is right near the trail corridor. Stop in and we'll point you to the nearest access point.
Temecula — Santa Margarita River Trail & Wine Country Roads
Distance: Varies | Surface: Dirt trail + open road | Level: All levels
Temecula offers two completely different riding experiences within a few miles of each other. The Santa Margarita River Trail is a natural, undeveloped path through riparian habitat — peaceful and scenic. For something more social, the wine country roads around De Portola Rd and Rancho California Rd wind through vineyards and rolling hills that are stunning on a clear day. E-bikes make those wine country climbs effortless, so you arrive fresh and ready to enjoy the scenery.
Riding 5 Temecula tip: We're at 41125 Winchester Rd — right in the heart of Temecula. Come in before your wine country ride and we'll make sure your bike is dialed in.
Before You Head Out
A few quick tips that apply to any of these rides:
- Check your charge. A full battery gives you the most flexibility, especially on longer routes or trails with elevation.
- Bring water. Most of these trails don't have water access along the route.
- Know the rules. E-bike access on dirt trails varies by park. When in doubt, stick to fire roads and paved paths — or ask our team.
- Helmets. Required for Class 3 riders in California, and always a good idea regardless of class.
